I saw some kids playing this web based online game at the apple store the other day, it looked like an rpg, just curious if anyone knows what this could be? I'm looking for a few online based games to waste time at work, something with a little more substance than the normal time wasters.

There are 4 that I know of, and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting about...

MapleStory (I don't have the URL handy, and it doesn't work with Macs for some reason)
The Kingdom of Loathing (actively play this)
Legend of the Green Dragon (actively play this one too)
PhantasyRPG (used to play this one, don't anymore)

I also wrote a game that you might want to look at as a time-waster. It's not web-based, nor is it an RPG (it's best described as a puzzle game). It's on my website.

    That game is AWFUL.

Still, for a web-based MMORPG it's not bad.

    Adventure Quest?

I used to play a great flash-based Web-RPG called "Adventure Quest." Perhaps this is the one you're looking for? You can find it at: http://www.battleon.com

When someone is using the words 'online RPG' and 'kids', I can do nothing but think of Runescape. It doesn't have nice graphics though. IMHO they didn't really improve the game all that much over all these years.

I played a game on and off for a total of about 3-4 years, total, called Dark Ages (http://www.darkages.com). It costs money, so not really much of a time-waster unless you wanna pay $10 a month, and while I wish I hadn't played it as much as, or for as long as I did, it's a pretty good game, in terms of plot and the social structure, which (not as much anymore, because people don't roleplay anymore) is quite in-depth. Could atleast check it out.

If you're looking for something like Adventure Quest, also check out DragonFable and the new MechQuest also made by Artix Entertainment, but don't have server caps.

MechQuest still isn't fully released, so if you start now, you won't miss any limited rares like the other games.
