I am based in the UK and have been looking at buying a web cam for my mac mini. I will only use it about once a month so I don't want to pay a fortune for it. Can anyone recommend one that will work with a mac? I have looked at loads but they seem to either not work with a mac or have issues with the microphone not working.

Thanks.

I remembered that I had a webcam that I had not used for around 3 years, so I decided to give it a try. It is a logitech but I don't know the model. On the front it has Rightsound Technology and Rightlight 2 Technology. It works great or appears to! I have recorded video message and sent them via skype and the sound and video seems to work fine. Not a first class image but then I don't need one. :) It also appears to work with face time as the video is showing up. I don't know anyone who uses ft so can't try it though.

Yours was an expensive one; mine was a cheap one. I think I only paid around £25 for it all those years ago.

Mine was around 50.00 us on amazon back then when I got it. It wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it as it's still a good webcam almost 8 years later. If it had been 200.00 back then I would not have it. At 50.00 it was still a splurge. I know a few years after that it was going for 70.00 on amazon, surprised to see the 200.00 price now. I guess since they are no longer made.

If anyone comes across a used one it works well. I am also using evocam software with it, works great also.
