I am currently interested in purchasing a domain. However, the domain I want to get is parked by godaddy.
who.is says:
Registrar: GODADDY.COM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.godaddy.com
Referral URL: http://registrar.godaddy.com
Status: clientDeleteProhibited, clientRenewProhibited, clientTransferProhibited, clientUpdateProhibited
Expiration Date: 2011-03-11
Creation Date: 2006-03-11
Last Update Date: 2010-03-12

However, it also says for register information:
[QOUTE]
Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc. (http://www.godaddy.com)
Domain Name: *****
Created on: 11-Mar-06
Expires on: 11-Mar-10
Last Updated on: 11-Mar-08
[/QUOTE]

What does all this mean? The original person who owns the domain lost their rights on March 11, 2010. But Godaddy still owns the domain until March 11, 2011? Does this mean I will be unable to purchase that domain name from another domain manger, such as bluehost, until next year?

Thanks

They didn't lose their rights on March 11, 2010, they created it then. Most registrations are for a year minimum. You won't be able to get the domain unless you work out a deal with the current owner.
