In the past in the era of the iSight, finding Mac-Compatible USB webcams was difficult. How much has that changed? I have a Mac Mini I'd like to set up for iChat usage, but I don't have any idea where to start with webcams.

Any thoughts?

A 360 Cam will do, they're pretty cheap if you find a used one. Not the best, but it works for my mini.

Dont be so Lazy and type on google "list of UVC compatible"

Yeah, that's what I did and I got a link to your smarmy message.

You added to the noise side of the signal to noise ratio on Google.

Maybe you could get a job working for porn sites: You could be one of the people who spams Google by adding text of popular search terms, driving traffic to the porn sites without actually providing what the searchers were looking for.

Here's a link that has info on UVC compatible webcams that are known to be Mac compatible:

http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/

How f***ing hard would it have been for you to do that? Talk about lazy...

chameleon81, if you don't have something of value to add, then just don't write anything.

I was also hoping that someone would have a personal suggestion.

...Yeesh.

I would get the Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac
It's only $80 at US Amazon and could be even cheaper elsewhere. Check out the user reviews, most of them seam positive.

I'm sorry that I could not help you with a personal recommendation. I am still researching the subject myself, but I found that site about UVC compatible webcams to be a good place to start.

I know that the Mac Superstore in San Luis Obispo carries and recommends the ~$100 Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac as their sole webcam. I really do trust those guys and I've heard good things from others regarding this particular webcam. Good luck in your search.
