I have been asked by a friend to make a website that raffles off his bike.

I was wondering what was the best way to do this.

I thought the best way would be to have a direct paypal link and a ticket number can be sent to the buyers email directly after payement.

I know this is used similarly on ebay for ebooks.

Would this be easy to put into practice?

And has anyone else got any good ideas?

Just wondering...people entering a raffle want to watch the draw to make sure there's no underhand dealings going on. How do you plan to do that over the Internet?

I had thought there would be a problem like that.

I thought if I did the payment through PayPal people might feel more reassured as they would be able to get their money back if anything was too go wrong.

The site isnt finished but the basis of it is up here

You may have to deal with some legal issues related to gambling, whether through your locality, state, or even the location of your web host.

    Why not just eBay it?

The only exception might be a raffle in conjunction with a charity, in which case it should be under the charity's site, etc.

Fortunately my friends dad runs a large business and we found a legal way to do it through that.

I am only having a few small problems with email forwarding at the moment but other than that its sorted!
