    Hi!

Can anyone recommend a good and *cheap* web hosting company? I have about 30 domain names registered of which about five have websites on, some of which have SQL and PHP use.

I've been with UK2.net for years now but have finally reached the end of my tether. They've randomly closed my site before, deleted my data and generally been rubbish in fixing these problems and today I got an email saying that I will now have to pay to have emails to anything@mydomains.co.uk forwarded on to me. Something that I use a lot and something that has been part of the service since day 1. They expect me to pay £4.99 + VAT a month *per domain* to keep this service. As a token of generosity they're giving us 1 month worth of this service for free, which in my mind gives me one month to move everything somewhere else.

I really want something that's cheap, easy to use, supports loads of domains in one package and a decent amount of storage and bandwidth.

I think right now I pay for 30 domains, most have the advert stuff on them and I use them as holding domains, 5 or so have paid ad-free forwarding and one has 5GB storage, PHP, SQL, DNS and 200GB transfer per month. Although to be honest, I'm using about 500MB and these days only about 5gb transfer a month. I used to get loads loads loads more traffic but since UK2 deleted half my site I haven't had the time to fix everything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I love hostgator.com. I pay $10/month for lots of storage and bandwidth and "unlimited" add-on domains. Never a problem with the site.

I've never had anything but great things to say about SiteGround. They just increased my storage and bandwidth for I think the 3rd time in 2 years, without any increase in cost or any downtime. They're really easy to work with too, and you get almost full control over your server space (though some things do cost extra). They're about $6 a month, though I did the two years ahead and saved a bit.

If you are planning to host many domains, I would suggest you look for reseller accounts.

In case you don't know, reseller account simply means it's an account which you can use to host unlimited* domains under your own name. It beats having to get 50 different individual accounts which you have to manage one by one.

The closest analogy is that a regular account means you're renting a room inside a house, while a reseller account means you're renting a block and then rent those rooms in that block.

So, in your case, I suggest you get one reseller account and then create sub-accounts which you can "rent" out to yourself in order to host your other domains. Another advantage of doing that is you can create your own 'hosting plan' and even let your friend/family/relative/gf/bf/dog/cat/etc. have their own website hosted on yours.

Anyways, I'm not sure what others would suggest in terms of reseller account. What I'm using right now is hostpc.com. I used to use others, but let's just say they have been letting me down.

I can't really vouch for hostpc yet because I haven't been with them for a year. But so far it's been looking quite nice.

    * unlimited = under terms and conditions laid out by the webhosting company. Usually it simply means unlimited up to the disk and bandwidth quota.

DREAMHOST all the way. From what I hear man you have more than 30 domain names, and they can host all of them for free. They give you email addresses for each up to 3thousand email accounts for free. They have three plans, I would go to their website for the exact details on each. When you look at it it does not look cheap, but believe me it is. I signed up for a one year first tier hosting since I have 3 domains and I only paid $32.00 compared to >$100 that is posted on the website. I can generate a coupon for you if you would like to save the same amount of money I did, I don't know the rules of this forum concerning this but If someone would like a coupon code let me know. EDIT: just to let you guys know, I don't know if you guys know this but the coupon codes are legit and legal, Im not some crazy guy giving away free cracked serial coupons and all. The actuall company gives them to me.

eboundhost are awesome! I have been with them for a bout half a year and haven't had a single problem that the support team couldn't fix in a few minutes! It's really cheap too, my plan is only about $5 US a month including a free domain name!
