Do those busy boys and girls at Apple usually work weekends? Maybe overtime for the festive season?

I put an app in last week and it showed as 'in review' on Friday but did not get released until 1pm on Saturday!

I think they just have a skeletal team working on app reviews over the weekend. Like, 2 people instead of 20 like during weekdays.

Edit: I don't think anyone outside of Apple really knows much about the team, though.

I don't mind working weekends, I wonder if there is a vacancy in the 'new and noteworthy' team :D

There is. But joining that team requires you to give up your developer account, remove all your apps from the App Store and return any profits you made from your apps! :D

they usually don't work over the weekend. 2-3 days of review time are perfectly normal. if it does take much longer, your app might be stuck (happened to me before). in that case simply reject the binary and upload again. usually that helps.

sorry i didn't read your post completely. according to your status history, the game has already been approved…?!

Yes, and it was approved on the weekend, the whole point of the thread.
