I’m an ad-free subscriber and I keep getting logged out on an approximate weekly basis. Since I’m not logging out manually and I’m not clearing cookies or history, the only conclusion I can draw is that this is being triggered by a server-side session or cookie expiration rather than anything on my end. Or perhaps it's some quirk with Safari?

I understand the security reasons for rotating sessions, but from a UX perspective it’s a bit frustrating, especially for subscribers who browse regularly but not necessarily every single day. If this behavior is intentional, some clarification on the policy would be helpful.

I’m ad free subscriber. Reader on multiple Macs, iPhone, and iPad. I don’t experience this on the site on any of the devices. Cant remember the last time I had to log into the site on any of them.

I've never been logged out of MR, unless I initiated it. Sounds less like a site issue, and maybe something that is occurring locally on your device(s)

The ad-free cookie on the news side has an expiration time of 7 days, but if you access the forums at all during that time it will continually renew so you should never have to do anything else to maintain the ad-free experience. And if it does expire, just clicking over to any forum page should restore it.

The news and forum sides are separate setups, so loading a forum page is what allows your status to be "checked" on the forum side (where contributor status is maintained) and the cookie to be refreshed for the news side.
