I think he should be punished with first place just for being tardy.
Actually he isn’t that tardy when you consider oblomow’s time difference in the Netherlands. That is 6-9hours ahead the US where currently 2PM (1400) Eastern time.

Here is my verdict. Remember it's the personal opinion of an amateur, so don't take it too serious.

@gaswerks I like how they are skating into the image. The photo looks timeless. I can't tell whether you shot it this year or 100 years ago (apart from the clothing and skates of course). Skating like this requires true mastery.

@deep diver You really followed this weeks theme. In multiple dimensions. Lovely image

@akash.nu I like your interpretation of the theme. I have difficulty judging this type of photography: is it streetphotography or a snapshot. That is something that I have to work on.

@mollyc Now that's a true master. Maori? Beautiful. Athough I would like to see his whole head

@tizeye Ah! The conductor. A fast moving species. Hard to shoot. But definitely a master at his game.

@Somepix This made me smile. You nailed it.

@Darmok N Jalad I like how this master managed to capture the mothers gaze at the son. I am not fond of the lighting, but I guess that wasn't under your control.

@triptolemus Another wood master. Lovely. I would like the a tighter crop, or longer focal length, of the master.

@inkmich The image had me puzzled when I opened it on the telephone. I understand that it's hard to get the right shot when you're in the audience. The angle works but the shiny floor is distracting.

@someoldguy First place for you! That'll teach you slipping it in after closing. 🙂 No, sorry. What's his mastery? Fishing of selling? I would like to see some cropping or editing to remove the distracting elements.

3rd place: somepix. Your image made me smile
2nd place: mollyc and deep diver
1st place: gaswerks. Your image made me come back to look.

Excellent judging! Thanks for the mention. 🙂 my photo was taken at the old International Market at Oahu, Hawaii. It is long gone none now, rebuilt to a mall. 🙁 We had him carve our kids’ names on the bottom of a carved turtle and it now lives in our living room bookcase.

Congrats to @gaswerks. 🙂

Congrats to all . The guy in my pic certainly wasn't selling fish , but along with the 2 others in the canoe , sure was good at catching them . Don't know if I would have been too happy in that canoe seeing the lack of freeboard , but they didn't seem to care . Taken in Belize a few years back .

Excellent capture and processing. Well deserved winner.

This photo makes me uneasy. I just keep thinking, one slip and his feet are going to hurt!

Well done on the judging. I’m afraid I was too busy to enter this one, but will try for the next.
