No home brew but we did have some Lagavulin. No photos though.

It's all connected. The fermented mash is really beer.
That is, unless you're from Germany. A law called the Reinheitsgebot was past in Bavaria in 1516. (There were other earlier laws but this is the best known one.) It required that beer was to be made ONLY from barley, hops, and water. They didn't know about yeast. Over time, the law was adopted in other regions. In 1906 it became the law governing all beer brewing throughout Germany. The law was amended to include yeast once those magical little buggers became known.

Decided last minute to carry a camera on my run today, and that was lucky! Got a bit of a rainbow (actually a sundog) just before sunset! Also for all of my grumbles about daylight savings time, it feels lucky to be out before sunset now. The other luck is that I took this picture at 6:30PM on the 18th and the contest is still open

When I once asked a dear friend “Does luck really have anything to do with it?” she replied "Luck: not so much but sorta kinda maybe sometimes, every now and then perhaps 😉”
No better example of how I, personally, view ‘luck’.
I subscribe, for the most part, to a Carl Jung'ian view of things . . .
. . . Jung’s idea of “meaningful coincidence” (i.e., "synchronicity")--when one event is apparently not directly responsible for the other, yet the two are seemingly and meaningfully related--lends directly to how I ‘feel’ about such encounters.
As he wrote: “ . . . it cannot be a question of cause and effect, but of a falling together in time, a kind of simultaneity.”
To make a short story long, these special, 'lucky' events happen in all the times: they just need someone to consciously make (or take) the time to stop, and look.
In the end, it’s not really ‘luck' which brings one to such things 🙂
My MBTI does not include a "J", so this 'Contest' thing is rather difficult for me . . .

It really was my birthday on St Patrick's Day (and always has been), so it wasn't a ploy, although my entry was an obviously setup shot as I had nothing to offer from the archives.

Judging is hard! Or at least, constructive judging...
Spring is here! And winter is quickly coming back... so today and tomorrow are outdoor days for me. Either tomorrow evening or Monday morning I'll try and get another one going!

It wasn't much of a photo. Just a snapshot that I took to post in another medium. Total Wine does a drawing for their allocated bottles. They have about a dozen different picks and grand reserve members can enter. I know people that spend way more there than I do that didn't get anything. So I was very lucky for my first lottery.
The whole Pappy craze is stupid. The "Lot B" bottle I got is going for around $1700 on the secondary market. 🙄 Not that I would sell it. It may be my only chance to have a bottle.
