Welcome snappers to this week's photo contest.

In light of the upcoming festive period, I am having trouble deciding on the new subject, so here is a poll for you to decide. This will run for 24hours only, so make it snappy (pun intended).

Poll is now closed. This week's theme under popular vote is Anticipation

May peace, happiness & prosperity shine upon us all.

Have fun!

Rules
-One photo only per contestant.
-Please do not comment and/or vote on photos until after the judging has taken place.
-The contest runs for exactly one week, starting tomorrow! (see time/date stamp at the start of this thread)
-At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, and if time allows it, providing some feedback as well. (Judge has 24 hours to make decision)
-The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme)

Very enjoyable video needfx; very funny, very well-made, and very clever, too.

Now, re the pictures themselves, although the video went to great lengths to appear to suggest that these choices were random, one has to assume that they were not; any thoughts on the actual pictures submitted?

@SS For once I thought that chance should have its day on the MR photo contest and this was actually random. I am currently uploading the original footage for proof purposes. Also, while I appreciate your remark regarding the video being well made, that is very far from objective truth. It is fun, I'll give it that, but the background music is the culrpit. The video in my eyes, among others, was rushed, full of focus shifts, out of focus shots, horrible supers (letters) and no choreography whatsoever. One other thing I liked about this idea though, other than it was random, is that it operates on the anticipation of the contestants.

What I can say about the winners, (no spoilers please), is that they were among my shortlist before coming up with the raffle idea, and that's all I am going to say about the winning pics, or any pic for that matter, on this particular contest.

Thanks @ all for participating and as always... to the next one!

No, I beg to differ: It was well made, in that - as a narrative - it worked extremely well, was short, nicely paced, and easily followed with a grin.

And sometimes pictures do not need to be works of art, they need to be able to tell a story without too much fuss. While it is said that 'a picture is worth a thousand words', sometimes, a thousand words are needed to explain a picture.

Anyway, thank you for getting back to me, and responding to my post; fair enough, and I like the idea of how the concept of 'randomness' has been linked to that of 'anticipation'.

However, for what it is worth, on a Christmas - or Yuletide - related theme, I have a feeling that the heading 'tradition' might have been easier to capture, or submit, as an image, than 'anticipation', which I suspect proved a bit more challenging than might have been originally anticipated…...

Well, that's democracy, mind you, and that's what they voted for :)

Proof as promised on this link and attached screenshot below. Red circles highlight the fact that the same piece of footage was used across the project. No funny business.

ps, I am too self conscious about how I write when I interact with you, and in revisiting my posts, I go berserk over my syntax errors and sentence structuring.
