Voladores

Mayan Voladores from Tulum, Mexico hang upside down and spin around the pole you see there.

always thought of as culture

Please read the rules in the starting post:

3. Please refrain from commenting on the photos submitted in the contest. A good photograph is one that can appeal to someone who may not know much about the technical aspects of photography, so it would be best if the judge isn't swayed by someone else's opinion of the photograph.

Don't know if you can see it but klm0929 has actually supplied a picture and is commenting on his own.

Oops. Sorry. Apologies to klm0929
I don't know what I was thinking there. (I blame it on the time of day, won't post anymore in the early morning)

Sorry for the delay everyone, life got in the way. I just copied and pasted the rules from the previous contest so I didn't know about the 24 hour rule.

First off thanks to everyone that submitted their photos in this contest. Being a newb to photography I don't think I am qualified to give in depth comments on all the submissions so I will only comment on the top three winners.

3. Keleko Nice and sharp with just the right amount of DOF nice colors to boot. I am wondering how the photo would look like if the camera was held lower.

2. flosser I love the lighting and the different colors of the wood from top to bottom along with the slight amount of condensation(?) hanging in the sunlight. Have you thought about cropping out the right side of the photo to take out the bright spot?

1. Chappers This a has a 3D feel to it IMHO. I especially like the angle of the lighting you chose to take this photo, that along with the subtle colors make it pop IMO. The only problem is it looks a little tilted.

Next contest goes to you, Chappers.

Congratulations to Chappers, flosser and Keleko!

Chappers: Can you give us some details on how you shot this? Thank you!

The rules were changed slightly to make things clearer but I don't think its that important. The most important thing is a good inclusive contest.

The challenge of my photo was getting no tourists and the tilt - it was a compromise.

I am flattered by being chosen for the win - thank you. I will try and get a new topic up asap.
