Weekly Photo Contest | January 16 2026 - January 26, 2026 | Low angle

Since we're all not getting any younger, it's a good idea to exercise the hips and legs. Show me your Low Angle shots. ( I know it's something I often neglect to do, especially when carrying a backpack )

The contest runs for 6 days since I will be out of town after that.
edit: change of plans: it will run until monday!

As always, the standard rules apply:

• The photographs must be your own work. No AI generated images.
• You may only submit one photo per contest.
• No commenting or liking photos until after the judging has taken place.
• This contest runs for about a week, starting now.
• At the end of the competition, the judge (last week's winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
• The 1st place winner will start a new thread here with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
• Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
• Contest will end January 26nd, 2026 at approximately 12:00 CET.

@iPhone-Guy Nice shot and good timing. I don't think you exercised your knees and hips for it. 🙂 The readable print on the ball is a nice extra.

@Snowlover Beautiful flowers. I am tempted to let you win, because I'm sure you'll make a great judge! But let's wait what the other entries are.

@cjsuk Oh this is a nice angle. A mysterious composition. What or who are they watching. I like it a lot.

@someoldguy Interesting! I wonder if you could have gone lower to include the mountain. It now feels cut off

@_timo_redux_ I can't tell what I am seeing. It is definitely shot from a low angle. It makes a pleasing puzzle.

@C0ncreteBl0nde A sloppy woman or the details of a passionate crime(?). Definitely low angle! Good exercise.

@thirsty_monk The low angle gives the impression that we are seeing a toy stage. It adds a new dimension to the image.

@kendallm Wow. Action, colors, smoke, low angle. It has everything. The position of both bikes is nice and I like the first driver is lookin into the frame and that his eyes are visible.

@OldMacs4Me A beautiful butterfly on a sunflower. Sometimes our sunflowers reach 2 metres (6ft), but I guess this one was lower. I hope you don't mind, but on my screen the image looks 'digital'. Either oversharpend, of digitally 'zoomed'.

@goldmac2006 Your knees must hurt! I feel I miss a story, the arrangement looks random.

@Janichsan Low and a nice composition. It's a pity its face in not completely in focus (and the body of the dog is)

The shot was taken on an iPhone 15 Pro 📱 on portrait mode.

Good thought , save for the mountain being WAY too high to get in fully . As far as getting lower , I was in Death Valley, can't get much lower...🙂

I was actually just sitting down there after drinking way too much before I'd even got to a gig 😂. In The Nursery at club 229 in London in 2024. Rather unheard of British post-industrial / neo-classical band who have been around waaaaay too long now. They were the supporting act. Left after that...

Wasn't a great one. They're getting on a bit. Lost it in the last few years.
