@aperfectcircle A soft dog among its soft toys! definitely fits the bill. Would love to see a little more light in the eyes of your main subject, but the composition is well balanced.
@bushman4 The soft laundry juxtaposed with the angular buildings is a great juxtaposition. I really like this image, but it's probably a little too straight for what I had in my head when I proposed this. Lovely overall though.
@StrollerEd A nest full of baby birds. Makes you want to pet their downy feathers. I do wish there was more separation between the birds and the greenery; the plants seem kind of stiff by comparison. Alas, we can't relocate wildlife to more photogenic spots.
@C0ncreteBl0nde An actual real baby! Definitely soft and an unexpected subject for this week. I find the overall coloring to be a little too magenta, but she looks like the sweetest thing.
@goldmac2006 A stuffed animal by definition hits the soft spot. Would love to see you think a bit more about your compositions. You have a good eye for subject matter, but you need to watch the edges of your frame to make sure you aren't cutting off parts of the subject. This image is just a snapshot for me, something I'd take in a store to ask my kids if it was the right item they were looking for.
@richardallan Another juxtaposition of soft and hard. I think this would feel better balanced if some of the right side were cropped off a bit, or cropped into a panorama. The light is quite lovely however.
@Snowlover Snug as a bug in a rug. Errr, something. All soft subjects, but the direct flash is a little harsh for me.
@Jonk1183 Who can say no to a pan full of cookies! As mentioned above, keep an eye on your edges. Your main subject isn't cut off, but it's so close to the edge it might as well be. Pulling back (higher) just a smidge to let more room on the left would give you some great lines/diagonals across the whole frame.
@kendallm Ah, yes, this feels soft overall. You can feel the wind from the fur being raised on the right hand guy. I'd love to see this image warmed up slightly so it's not so blue and also have the horizon straightened.
@Janichsan Okay, so in the back of my head, when I proposed "soft" I was really thinking of bokeh/blur, so for me, this really hits what I was going for. But I did honestly want to see other interpretations of the word, which is why I didn't choose "blur" as theme. It's been fun seeing the individual variations on this word. I love that you also picked the word soft as your subject to reinforce the message.
@Strider64 What is this little guy? A green heron? He's cute whatever he is. Good framing and composition here.
@_timo_redux_ An out of season photo! Snow is definitely soft, and also softens the noises of the world. I love the snowflakes trailing down the frame.
Okay, those are my thoughts, please everyone know they were made with sincerity and no intention of malice or condescension....I feel like I have to qualify that based on recent posts. My hope is that everyone who participates in these competitions become the best photographer they can, so my comments are all made with love and encouragement. ❤️

@kendallm In my former life (and hopefully future too, I'm just on an extended break), I was once a knitter, and wow would I love to sink my hands into those coats.

@Janichsan yes, this was really what I was hoping for, softness made in camera with some good photo skills.
Thank you one and all for participating! It was fun to see everyone's voice come out this week. Cheers. 🫶🏻
