iPhone X - 6.14 oz
iPhone XS - 6.24 oz
iPhone 11 Pro - 6.63 oz

iPhone XR & 11 - 6.84 oz

If I had to buy a phone now I would still get an 8. I hope they update the internals of the 8 as has been rumored.

Yeah I’m not loving the weight gain. Maybe they’ll include those harmonica neck holders in the box to assist with prolonged usage :D

what’s did the rumor specifically say? I’ve heard a YT talking head say something about updating the guts of the iPhone 8 with current gen innards, an that could be the iPhone SE2

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE IPHONE 8
Apple plans to launch a new low-cost 4.7-inch iPhone in the spring of 2020 according to Nikkei in a report citing supply chain sources.

The upcoming device is "viewed as the latest generation of the iPhone SE," according to Nikkei, though pricing details haven't been shared. The rumored iPhone is said to be similar to the iPhone 8 that was introduced in 2018 with an LCD to keep costs low.

News of an upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone first surfaced in April 2019 from Taiwan's Economic Daily News, with that report suggesting the new device will share "most of the same components" with the 2019 iPhones, featuring an A13 chip, a single-lens rear camera, and 128GB storage.

Bloomberg also believes Apple is working on a new low-cost iPhone, which could launch as early as the first half of 2020.

the weight gain comes because they dont develop a new phone, but re-package the original X with minor updates.

I just checked the 11 pro max compared to the Xs max for fun and yeah...I’m definitely NOT getting the new one. I stated For myself a while back that regardless of how I feel about the new one, the Xs max size and weight was the absolutely most I would ever go because it’s already too heavy, then they went and managed to add ~20g. I’m definitely staying away from this new phone until Apple reels itself back a little.

re: the 11 Pro Max vs XS Max

5 hours more battery + a camera system that creates a ton more picture options
at a weight cost of < 1 oz ?

I am so IN.

+ 5 hours battery life alone makes this the most no-brainer upgrade ever.

I travel a lot for work and play. Several risky situations or near disasters I've experienced while traveling had a phone dead battery as the proximate cause.
(in addition to a dead battery simply being a PITA and huge inconvenience)
