Seems that I would drop about 0.4 pounds. Yes. I'm aware of the OptiBays, but I'm more interested in losing weight than adding storage.

D deeesea macrumors 6502 Nov 9, 2010 #7 Yeah just open it up, unplug whatever cables and screws and remove the Super drive...though tbh you won't save much weight...or maybe you will, I removed mine, but i dumped in a SSD so i never used my laptop w/o a superdrive.
