Weight of glossy vs. matte display

Is it true that getting the matte display shaves weight off the MBP compared to the glossy display?
 
Any idea how much? I'm thinking of going matte just for the weight savings on a 15" MBP.

This sounds crazy to me. It is HARDLY noticeable. Every once in awhile when you pick them both up you might get a slight inclination that the matte is lighter, but sometimes you can't even tell. Go to the apple store if you can and pick them both up.

Do you think the gloss screen looks better (picture quality and design)? If so don't waste your money on matte just for a hardly ever noticeable difference.

Although I DO think you should spend the money simply to be able to use your MBP in the sun and in rooms with tons of light. Otherwise you'll have to turn the brightness up a lot, killing battery. I also just think the matte screen and silver bezel looks better.
 
I went from a Glossy to Matte and the Matte was about 0.5lbs lighter and the screen can now support itself without falling.
 
I posted this last year with the i7 refresh and the availability of the AG HR screen; its 0.5lb lighter. Hope that helps.
 
Half a lbs is quite noticeable. It would make a 15" MBP basically a 5 lbs laptop. Thanks for your replies guys.
