Simple question: Why doesn’t Apple publish the actual weight of cases?

Update: It seems people have been asking in multiple threads so I'll add/update the info here.

So far....

6.1-inch Silicone case: 28/29 grams
6.1-inch Leather case: 25 grams

Mini Leather case: 22 grams

I’d also like to know the thickness of the cases. I feel like the added width of the 12 Pro has made me much more aware and sensitive to thick cases. I’m just using a super thin, Caudabe Veil right now. Even their Sheath makes the phone feel a good bit wider to me. I usually like the Apple leather cases, but I’m unsure if they’ll be too bulky for me this year. Also, I don’t love that they raised the price on them.

Bruh...do you even lift

Do you have the frost?

No. I got the black one. I wish they had done a Graphite one. They did a midnight green one last year for the 11 Pro. Some transparency would be cool, but I personally think the frost only looks good with the silver phones. Just my opinion.

Well, I got an Apple leather case to try yesterday. Going to give it a couple days to see what I think. My initial impression is that it has more grip to it than previous years. I’d say it’s ever so slightly thicker than the Sheath. I think that the Sheath and Apple leather cases are absolutely as thick as I can tolerate on the phone, since it has flat edges. Honestly, I find it harder to use with on hand with the Apple leather and the Sheath. The Veil is the most comfortable for me to hold (size wise).

That said, I think the Apple leather feels like very good quality, smells like leather (unlike what I read others say) and I don’t notice it being loose on any corners.

If the size grows on me, I’ll keep the leather and Sheath. If not, I’ll be returning both the leather and sheath and sticking with the Veil.

Sorry for the long post. Just thought the info might be useful to others.

Which case is easier to grip between the leather and sheath?

It’s hard to directly compare because the type of grip is very different. I think it’s the same as usual for me. The leather gives me better grip in colder months, when my hands tend to be dryer. The sheath is grippier when my hands are not dry.

Again, it’s hard to say. The leather has more of a “stick” to it because of oils on your hands. The sheath is only grippy because of texture/friction. You don’t really get the grip on the sheath unless you grasp the phone tightly. The leather has some grip with any grip because of the material.

Do you know the width of the silicone/leather case?

Makes a lot of sense to me, I swapped my 11 pro to a lighter 12 so don’t want a 50 gram case, I thought the silicon
was heavier than that. How much do the magnets add to a case weight?

Haven't seen this mentioned yet, sorry if I missed it - but does anyone know the weight of the apple clear case? I have it currently but am wondering if it is lighter or heavier than the leather. It's quite heavy when I have the wallet attached to it, but that might just be the metal sapphire reserve card hah

the green was great. I bet the will hav either a graphite or blue. just too early.

totalee has green and blue

The silicon cases are noticeably heavier and thicker than the leather cases. I’ve been using my silicon case but I’m going to switch to my leather cases as they are far less bulky in my view
