The thick of it
After the last iOS update, my 13 mini began acting weird. It intermittently freezes up. For instance, when I open an app, the app will become unresponsive with no way to exit. The only solution is a hard reboot. It's happened with several different apps. There was an issue with the Lock Screen where I couldn't swipe to the left to access the camera. I could click only on the camera icon at the bottom left. That also was fixed (so far) with a hard reboot. Then today I got a more disturbing glitch: my iPhone was sitting on my desk and I tapped the screen to check the time, and it immediately opened to my Home Screen -- without authenticating with FaceID. I was able to replicate that behavior three times. Then the whole phone froze up and blacked out. I tapped the screen again and things were back to normal. Has anyone else been seeing oddities like that?

Nope, try resetting the phone and if that doesn’t fix it, return it. Software issue for sure.
If you can do a full fresh install using a Mac if you can as it will download fresh software.

I get occasional freezes in apps. But this is happening with my iPad and my wife’s iPhone 12 - so looks like an iOS 15/15.01 issue. Could be apps…but was not occurring before update. Lots of others seem to be hitting this - including in Safari.

Safari on my iPhone 13 mini freezes sometimes when I go to macrumors.

have to kill app and restart

I have an excellent experience thus far. No problems with the battery. I have noticed a software bug since the last update, that the main screen will get unresponsive occasionally and it requires turning the screen off and back on to resolve.
Ouch. But happy with better battery.
