My friend bought Applecare for his iBook (yes, iBook, not MacBook), completely forgot he bought it and now he can't use it.

Can I use it for my MacBook?

If they never registered it and used the key it's up for grabs.

Shouldn't be a problem. What is the product number on it? When was it bought?

Awesome! I was worried that since it is for iBook, it can't be used on a MacBook.

Sorry, I don't know the product number. It was bought ... summer of 2005.

Up until a few months ago, Applecare for the iBooks use to say iBook/MacBook. If it has the same product code as the MacBook Applecare, then there is no question. If it does not, there is still a good chance that Apple will let you pair the Applecare with your Macbook.
