iPhone 14/Plus Weird background when the phone got to hot

I have never seen this before. This is the back of my fiance's phone after it got too hot. The screen is normally black so it caught both of us off guard. Is this new or something else? Thanks

I started noticing this on the 14 Pro. Even just a little heat can activate this va before you’d need to leave your phone in the sun on a hot day to get it. Better for the battery I guess.
