Weird Battery Coincidence

I got fed up of having my 8gb iphone in a case. I had the Belkin plastic one. Since I have taken it off, my battery life has been phenomenal. I used to charge almost every or day and a half. I am at almost three days with 2.35 hours use and it hasn't moved off the full bar.
Anyone else experience this?!

Perhaps the case was affecting its reception and therefore causing the phone to work harder to get the signal. Or maybe it was making it too hot and causing the battery to drain faster.

That is kinda what I was thinking. I know it wasn't hot. I think it may have been interference.
