Believe it or not, I can support the OP's claim. I was playing around and taking pics with my iPhone and it did do some sort of zoom randomly. Upon taking a picture though, it was captured at normal size (no zoom) and then everything returned back to normal. It was a little awkward but i just ignored it, and it hasn't happened again yet!

Thank you! I know I'm not going crazy here... If it does happen again, I'm coming back here just to take a picture of it. :p

well i cant vouch for his zooming experiance, but something weird happened to my camera the other day at the rutgers football game. I was snapping pics, and out of no where my phone starting showing a split screen in camera mode. It was really weird!! So i took another pic, but it just ended up taking a normal picture. The split screen was equally distributed on each side of the screen, almost like apple has intended to use this. But anyway I wasnt drunk, and I showed it to my friends before I took the next pic.

I have gotten the split screen before, by taking a picture then viewing it and zooming in and going back to the camera. I haven't been able to reproduce.

im glad that i am not the only one. It was really weird. The camera was showing the same image on each side of the screen (something I forgot to mention)
