Ok, so I was using my iPhone as I usually do and I decided to check how much data I had used, I find out that both in the sent and received slots there has been an increase of 4GB, 8GB in total. This freaks me out because I browsed for 10 minutes tops, posted some messages on Facebook and checked my email (there were no attachments).

I know that this increase happened suddenly because I checked how much data I had used on my say to school in the morning. When I was getting back home I checked and it went from 1.8GB to 5.8GB for sent data and from 17.6GB to 21.6GB for recieved data. My concern comes because my unlimited data plan (in Mexico) has restrictions, if I use more than 3GB in one month they slow my network connection to 64kbps. I don't know if this is a real value because it has never happened before.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_6 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E200 Safari/6533.18.5)

I have the exact same problem with verizon in the United States. The second day I had my iPhone my usage went from a minuscule number of megabytes to over 12GB sent AND received. I'm always on wifi, so I know it's some glitch either on my phone or by the network.

did you try calling your carrier and asking if it was a glitch?

Yep, they said that they didn't know and that I should take it to the store for repair (no Apple Stores here :(). I'm concerned, but not enough to go wait two hours for someone to look at my phone and take it away for a month to get another one. The customer service here sometimes really sucks.

I'm still like  because in like three years I've had iPhones (every model) I have never had such a thing happen to me...weird right?

I've seen several reports of this happening with different iPhones from different carriers.

I wouldn't worry about this, it's just a glitch.

Ok, thanks...I just had never heard about this happening to anyone that I kinda' freaked out about it...lol
