Weird Email Scroll Issue

I just updated to this and now when I am in mac mail I can not scroll via my track pad (on a MBP). Also a scroll appears only if I change the window size and I have to grab it quick before it disappears... Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix?

I had some oddness with trackpad when I installed Mavericks, it was launch day so don't recall exactly what was happening but either a SMC reset or NVRAM reset fixed it for me as I recall.

I repaired permissions and that seems to have done the trick.

I will add Safari seems really slow and clunky now, not loving this update much at all.
