I'd be curious to know if anyone else has seen this issue. I've already initiated my return, as the Genius Bar employee saw the issue but refused to swap it due to

A. it passing the software tests (no ****)
B. it being 13 days old

Basically, when outside standing facing the sun you get a weird halo glare coming into the screen from what I assume is the top edge of my glass not being flush with the band. This occurs with the phone on or off.

Photos:
notice the curved in whispy white light bowing in around the time?

You can also see it here from the video I took in my apple store (there just happened to be some sunlight coming into the store, the 14P on display there did not exhibit this issue). That milky white funnel shape is directly caused by the sunlight (notice the bright light hitting the top of the band)

Am I crazy or is a defect? My wife's 13 and my 13 Pro did not have this issue.

I’m still stumped as to why this isn’t a replaceable issue at the store with a white box phone.

With AC+ would I be out the $49?

Yes. The screen sees your Dodger hat and wants to break.

Lol sorry. This is a defect within the screen, seen it a few times on here with prior generations. You'll need to return/rebuy or go through AppleCare+ for express replacement
Also - go dodgers!

No, but I could add it with one click.
I would. Then set up express replacement. Its free with your AC+. Then they put a hold on your credit card of new phone. Overnight you brand new phone. You send yours back. Avoiding the idiot stores and you wont be without a phone.

But am I paying a service fee or anything? Or is there an option in AC+ to just send it in for unknown hardware fault?

With no ac+ its $29 for express replacement. With AC+ its free.

If you dont want AC+ go back to the store and ask for a replacement from the management

I guess my question is how do I initiate a replacement given none of the software tests fail? This was my issue in store which they said could not be overridden (probably bull)

All you do is go through online chat and tell them screen is defective show picture say you want express replacement you've gone to store. They will set it up done in 5 min

Dang, ok. I’m gonna do this tomorrow AM if none of my stores show inventory. If it works I’ll be pissed I wasted two hours at the Genius Bar.
