Weird happenings on my Dock

When I hover my mouse over some icons on my Dock strange things happen. Let me explain... When I go to Safari,I get 4 horizontal lines. When I go to Finder,iChat,iTunes and a few others the icon fades out. I can still access these features. Does anyone know what is happening and why only selective icons are effected ?😕

I also get this sometimes. And sometimes, the dock becomes clear instead of the grey glassy look.

Restarting will fix your problem. Seems to happen to me when I play some games. Hasn't happened since I updated to 10.5.2 though. Have you updated?

I had some bugs with the dock and cover flow before, but nothing since updating to 10.5.2

10.5.2 helped

Installation of 10.5.2 solved the problem. Thanks to all for your help.

This has happened to me but with 10.5.2 no problems yet. If there is a problem as they've said just restart or logout and log back in to your profile, which works as well.
