Weird iCal event time issue

I'm having an odd issue with iCal. When I try to edit the time of the event, the full time can't be viewed. the last two digits and the AM/PM are cut off. It's been like this for a while but i never really figured out why, until today. in the time bar, the date is repeated (2011-11-24 24, 11, 2001). Any ideas why this is happening/what i can do about it?
