I was messaging a friend via iMessage today and put it in my pocket. When I pulled it out later, there was a message typed up. It seemed way too coherent for it to be typed up accidentally  I told my friend what happened and he said that the same thing has happened to him in the past. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Did you or your friend buy or sell a used iPhone recently? There's quite a few threads about messages getting mixed up between current and former owners of their iPhones.

I would suggest posting on http://discussions.apple.com to make sure Apple knows about these problems with iMessage.

This can also happen if you used someone else's sim to activate your phone.

I've had a situation where someone I was texting started to get text messages from someone where it looked like the messages were coming from me- but I wasn't sending them. It's really odd and disturbing. I've not bought or sold an iPhone, and I've changed my passwords...

We both have brand new iPhone 4s

Not sure what happened. Just wanted to put it out there to see if anyone else has been experiencing this

Maybe iMessage uses that much magic that you can now receieve messages from the dead?

Kidding aside I've had some strange issues while using it, hopefully are the gremlins will be worked out soon enough.
