Weird iMessage issue

Today my messages started not showing up on iMessage unless I scrolled up. Just had random time stamps where the messages should be. Also had a few texts where multiple chat bubbles were on top of each other. Problem went away after a restart, first time I've ever seen this on any of my iPhones. Anyone else seen this? This was on a 5 obviously running iOS 6.
