Weird issue with forum and article comments, very niche

When clicking on forums or article comments page never loads. Only if I hold and click open in new tab

This is only on mobile phone and tablet

iPhone is on latest iOS 16.5 and iPad on iPadOS 16.5

Haven't come across this on 16.5 as yet with LTE, nor WiFi. VPN perhaps?

Turn off WiFi on the phone to force mobile data; any change?

Seen this at random times on other sites. Swipe-quit the browser and or reboot the device. Really messed up state of the browser/WebKit for browser being used.

ADD: or can try Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data, then search for "macrumors". Swipe-delete the item to clear cache/cookies for the site. Will need to sign in again.

Weird seems to have fixed itself without me doing anything

Problem back again.

It seems to mainly happen when clicking on comments instead of article title weird.

Are you able to test if this behavior is the same on another browser? Edge, Brave, Chrome, etc.?
