Weird Issue with my 7 Plus

I've had my phone for less than a week now. I've noticed that the included earpods only work when plugged in one way (ie. its not a reversable connector like the lightning charging cable). is this normal or is my phone just weird?

Mine work plugged in either way.
Might be an issue with the adapter that you're using.

Yeah, it's gotta be an issue with the phone. Idk. It's like not like a life or death thing. But it does get kind of bothersome at times

Can you test out another headphone adapter?
I think it would be that and not the actual phone socket but you never know.
Does the phone charge either way you plug in the lightning wire?
Check to make sure there's no dirt on lint stuck up inside there.

Charging wire works both ways. Maybe it's the EarPods

Yes, either that or the adapter that's not making contact on one side of the plug.

I'm not using the adapter, I'm using the lightning EarPods that comes with the 7 Plus in the box

Can you test out the earpods with another iPhone? Sounds like you already tested the phone via charging cable.
