Hi.

I started having a weird issue with my MacBook Pro, 15-inch, Late 2011, OS X 10.9.

If I press for example left command + left shift/control/option + a, the mac only receives command + a.

If I use the right shift/option it receives the correct input.

Also if I use the right command + left shift/control/option it works fine.

All keys work independently fine and there's an issue only with the left keys combination as I described. This makes me think there's no hardware issue.

I tried:
- restarting mac
- creating new user profile
- cmd + option + p + r reset
- disabled all keyboard shortcuts from System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts
- Dictation and Speech are not enabled

All failed. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I've never come across this, and a software conflict was my first guess.

If you create a specific shortcut for the combo, will it work?

I don't know if it's feasible for you to launch Linux or something in a VM and see if that OS registers that combo. Just to try and rule out a hardware issue.

Others will probably have better suggestions.

I can't create a combo using those keys (Actually I can but not with by pressing the left command key). If I try to register a new shortcut using left cmd + left shift + a for example, it registers as cmd + a.

I also reinstalled the os and still nothing.

I'm going to try on a VM, but since the mac doesn't receive the input correct, I assume it will pas the incorrect input to the VM as well.
