I just checked out the Leopard Sneak Peak at Apple's website, and I think the icon in the menu bar has something to do with the screen sharing. It appears when they start the screen share, and opens up to scroll some text across. (If you don't know what I mean, and I hardly know what I mean, then check it out-- http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/ichat.html)

I still can't figure out what the dock icon is though...
OK. I figured what the icon in the menu-bar is. It is the iChat icon. Duh.

You can clearly see in Unorthodox's post directly above yours that the spaces icon is in the dock as well as the mystery icon. It goes: Finder - Time Machine - Spaces - Dashboard - Spotlight - Mystery Icon - etc.

I know the Spaces icon is already in the dock. What I'm saying is perhaps more than 4 desktop environments can be created, and when that happens a second Spaces icon is temporarily placed in the dock. I don't know why there would only be three desktop images on the icon though. Heck, I don't know why it would be neccessary to create a second icon, it looks a lot like the Spaces icon though.

I think Apple did this on purpose to make idiots like us wonder what those icons are all about.

I agree. We spend way too much time huddled over tiny little bits and pieces instead of sitting back and thinking about the whole picture when it comes to Apple's upcoming OS X releases.

The Truth: There were far too many holes in the Leopard presentation. Although these icons do seem mysterious, there are many other possible Leopard features we should be wondering about.
