Thanks for your detailed response to this. I'm still using Mail.app instead of Outlook. I am annoyed that Calendar event "new time proposed" messages are totally broken using this system, but other than that, I prefer it much more than Outlook. I will save this in the event I ever go back and find the problem again.

Fantastic!

After all the non-relevant posts to the chain, a perfect answer! I had the same problem and realised whilst clicking 'too fast' I had deselected the 'group folders together' and hadn't realised it. It was driving me crazy... and I would never have found it without the post. Thanks - much appreciated!

You are right, but for the wrong reason. Outlook 2011 is not v1 of anything. Outlook 2011 is v14 of Microsoft's own Entourage communications suite. Entourage is marginally compatible with Exchange Server. It is even less compatible with Outook 2010 and older versions of the Windows communications suite.

Outlook 2011 she is correct is a V1 product. It is NOT compatible nor is it the same beast. V14 refers to the Office suite as a whole, but in MS's numbering scheme it does not mean V14 for Mac. Just like V15 is Office 2013 and Wave 15 is the (latest) 2013 iteration on Office 365.

There is no code share between the former Entourage and the current Outlook 2011 product. It's a ground up iteration. And I assure you that while dated, Entourage is not just functional with an Exchange server, it's almost fully compatible albeit with older versions like Exchange 2003. 2010/2013 Exchange-not so much.
