since my parents bought a new pc.

i havent been able to connect to it. i go to the network window, and i cant see my macbook listed.

is there something that i am suppose to do to make them see each other?

i have a feeling that its something so dumb that i didnt do.

also the operating system used to be windows xp pro on the old machine.

on the new one it is vista home basic.

any ideas? thanks!

i also googled and i found nothing..

If you search Mac Vista network problem on google you will find lots of things on google and even on Macrumors.

I had the same problem and could not fix it.

good luck :)

So i am a little confused

Are you trying to see the Windows machine from your mac? OR are you trying to see the mac from your windows machine?

Home basic is the most useless OS ever written. You can only do stuff like browse web and word process. Upgrade yourself to home premium. Home basic won't allow you to anything.
