Weird stains on my macbook pro screen border

Hello everyone, a few months ago some spots on my macbook pro's screen border had white stains on them. Didn't think of it much, but soon the stains spread out to the rest of the border. Any tips on what might be happening, and whether I could replace the screen glass and with it the border? Thanks
