I have 2 homepod mini's set up around my TV. Whenever I say "Hey Siri" One of them comes on (so far so good lol). The problem lies in that one of them does not recognize the phrase (set timer for ___) whereas the other one does (the one further away). From time to time my phone does the same thing, and forgets how to set the timer.

Any ideas on why one cant set the timer? And is there anything I can do to have the proper one respond every time?

In a stereo pair the one that responds when using the hey Siri command is the last one that was physically pressed on top of the HomePod itself.

As always with these kind of stupid problems, have you restarted the devices?

as they were finalizing the latest version of OS, I think someone dropped Siri on her head as they were putting her in the box. I've had numerous phrases that used to work flawlessly, not work so well anymore.

so if the problem just started up for you in the past week, it might just be a buggy version of the OS.

Didn’t think of restarting them ☺️

I’m going to test the physically pressing thing, I hope it works

I've reset both of them and did the physical pressing. It does not always go to the one that's been physically pressed and I'm still having the same issue
