Having a very strange trackpad issue I'm hoping someone can help me out with. In short, I'm having trouble clicking even though the physical click works. I only have this issue in OS X. Also, the dock won't show up when the cursor is in the normal dock location.

This isn't a hardware issue. The trackpad works in the bootloader and in Windows 10 without issues. It makes the physical clicking noise. But it doesn't work properly in OS X (Mavericks), even in Safe Mode.

I tried resetting PRAM/NVRAM and SMC but neither helped.

Well, figured it out—I had a Magic Mouse that I never use laying around in a closet and apparently it was connected/stuck clicking and throwing everything off. I'd never paired it in Windows, hence why it worked there.
