When I delete a file, trash gives me this weird dialogue box (please see attachment). It is only after I restart my Mac that this will be fixed. Thank you for your help.

So this happens every time you delete any file? And it refers to the same file in the dialog box every time or it refers to the file you are trying to delete every time?

I think this is not that uncommon, but also not normal. It is also what a force trash delete was designed for. Try that.

I would also check to see if you have anything odd that is set to launch at startup, and disable that. Check your activity monitor for suspicious processes. If there is something running that should not be, it is probably due to the arrogance of Adobe and how they like to worm their way into our computers uninvited. Maybe not, but odds are.

The one thing this does seem to support is my assertion that some coders do not really know how to spell very well.

TyroneShoes2, this does happen every time I delete a file and it does not refer to the same file in the dialog box anymore, it is giving me this new message now,

"".Trash" can't be open right now because it's being used by another task, such as moving or copying an item or emptying the Trash. Try again when the current task is complete."

I tried looking in activity monitor for weird programs and startup programs, but that does not work either. Help!

satcomer, how do you security empty trash?

Attachments?

I'm curious if you notice the following pattern: are the files mentioned in the cannot-empty-the-trash dialog box files that you recently attached to an e-mail message that you sent?
