Weird...wallpaper removed on restart

I have a rMBP 15" and restarted it this morning. Before the restart, I had a custom wallpaper and other tools with GeekTool. Upon entering my password, both the wallpaper and geeklets were removed, oddly. I managed to recover the Geeklets by enabling them again in GeekTool. Had to find the original wallpaper I was using though. What happened?

Wallpaper changes to default after restart
rMBP reverting to old wallpaper most times I reboot.
MacBook Pro wallpaper keeps reverting to a NON default image after every reboot.
