Not sure, but I wouldn't try using it as body armor. First of all, you might die, but more importantly, you'll ruin the case of your mac! 😀

I was under the impression the stand was an anodised (titanium colour) aluminium alloy, same as the macbook pro/powerbook.

Titanium is strong but light and expensive so probably isnt used in imacs.

As to it falling over due to light weight, unlikely the design (shape and its centre of gravity) of the stand should prevent that

i can see that working! only problem is where to get an arsenal of weapons to actually kill it!

Don't think it's aluminum - aluminum is very light weight.

if its alumimnium it would be a heavier alloy i'm guessing. Titanium is pretty light too. Titanium alloys are used for manufacturing.

You might want to look into finding a Mac which is a bit tougher than merely bulletproof. The IIci, perhaps? Come armageddon, all that will survive will be cockroaches emailing each other from System 7.
