When I'm accessing gmail through the mail app and I start to type my own gmail address on the to or cc field, the mail app puts
"Holidays in United States <my-gmail-user-id @ gmail.com>" rather than "My Name <my-gmail-userid @ gmail.com>". This doesn't happen when I'm logged into to gmail on Chrome on Windows.

Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

That's based on your contacts right? Go to Contacts and type in your gmail and see what entries in your contacts relate to that address.

I had that happen one time when I merged contacts from another service with my Apple contacts. There were multiple entries with my email that I had to merge (and remove some).

Hope that's it.

That address doesn't appear anywhere in my contacts.

However, creating a contact with my name and the email address seems to have fixed the problem.
