I am running Panther (Old skool) on my 12" 1ghz Powerbook. 😎

Yesterday I used the computer for ~2hours and then it started acting up. 😡

Events:

1. Finder Froze.

2. Restart (Stuck at Apple Logo)

3. Restart (Made it to login, logged in, but finder was still flaky)

4. Restart (Stuck at Apple Logo)

5. Restart (Sticks at Apple Logo, slowy runs through progress bar details, completes all normal activities up until the login screen, but instead, the screen flickers black, and goes to the Welcome Screen for when OSX is first installed with the music, multiple languages, etc.)

6. After filling out the forms (registration info, create a user id, etc.) everything should be ready to go (although I shouldn't be at this screen to begin with) and then the welcome screen restarts, and I have to enter all this data again... and this process repeats. 🙁

Has this happned to anybody else? Any ideas about what has happened or how to fix it? 😕 I cannot access any of my files.

CLIFFS:
Computer turns on to Mac Welcome Screen/Registration screen.
After completing registration, it asks me to register again.
And Again.
And again.
Ideas?

Thanks! :apple:

Try holding Shift during startup for a Safe Boot, then restart normally from there 🙂

Thanks for the quick response!

I just used that trick:

It sat at the apple screen for a period of time, the restarted, then sat at the apple screen, then restarted again. 🙁
