Hey guys,

just been in the Apple store checking over and resetting my 12" MacBook (2015)..for return to the company I purchased from, and have a new"ish" MBP on order..

I love the form factor and portability of the MB Retina, its my favourite Apple design, also the keyboard, I knows its marmite, but hey, I think its awesome!

I have had a few issues with it, so I managed to source a great deal on a 2017 MBP, (will update once I get it (Monday)).

Its not the most powerful or up to date Mac I do realise this, but its only for Spotify, E-mail and Safari on the go, do I don't need crazy power..

Even the Genius said the difference from the 2015 MB to the 2017 MBP will be night and day..which is great, as I thought that (even though I knew it was a lot slower) was ok for my tasks, so having the extra oomph, like my M1 MM or iPad Pro, will be a nice change!

The last thing, is I am very anal about condition of my tech, and even though I bought the MB knowing the condition was not 100% it was only for out and about usage, so I overlooked this, but as time went on, it defiantly bothered me more and more..

The MBP is also got a solid year warranty and is a "excellent" condition bracket (I paid a bit more for this as apposed to saving a few £££ as like I said, condition is in general, important to me). If I receive this on Monday and its not what I expected I will replace for another one of the same, as the deal and the pre-sale conditioning of the unit is very thorough..

So, as I get it and setup, I will update the thread accordingly. :)

hey guys,

took delivery today of my 2017 MBP..and overall, I'm happy.

there is a little bit of wear on the top, nothing major, the case, screen, trackpad and keyboard are in really good condition. I checked out the battery and is "normal", but what did surprise me was the low (25) cycle count on it, so a bonus there!

I have updated the OS etc. So will use the next week or two to see how it fairs, and if I want to keep it or change for a different one if there is something faulty / or I'm not happy with.

Will get some pics up soon!

now setup, and testing out, my new MBP..

Since it has a warranty, extensively check out the keyboard now. The keyboard is very prone to failure, and a repair is extremely expensive.
Thanks for the suggestion mate, how do you recommend me to check it out? As I have used it a fair bit and so far, so good..I think! 😆
