Edit: Sorry should read "Will IM count as text?"

Im switching over to ATT with my wife for the iphone 3g. I was talking to my current verizon customer support and was told that IM counts as texting on your bill.
Is this just the case for verizon or does that apply to ATT as well?
Thanks

no it won't - it's data

No, IM will not count towards your SMS texts.

First of all, iPod touch users will be able to use AOL instant messenger.

Second of all, SMS uses a special data frequency on the cellular network. IMs will be sent over the standard data frequency included in your unlimited data plan.

Hope this helps
