In my experience I had a white iPad 2 and I did notice the home button kind of yellowed overtime. Nothing to panic about but if you looked closely, the home button did become yellowish unlike the bezel. The bezel was perfectly white. Of course the glass protects te bezel while the home button has no layer for protection.
I had it for about a year.

But does OP enjoy Cheetos as much as you do? Because that matters.

How does everyone not realize this is totally incorrect? Black shows EVERYTHING while white does not. Think about it - black is the darkest color, so anything that gets on it is going to be lighter than it and therefore very noticeable. Go look at a black car and tell me it looks cleaner than almost any other color car around it. Unless it was JUST washed, it's probably dirty looking while other cars look passable for much longer - until they are filthy. Your friends' white iPads are "gross" because they don't look dirty for much longer, so they don't clean them off as obsessively as black iPad owners do. As an owner of a black iPhone 4 and previously a white iPhone 3G, I rarely thought about cleaning the back of the 3G, but I constantly clean the 4. Black shows everything.

Sorry bubb. My friends white iPad was nasty looking because the dirt and debis was dark and showed up VERY plainly on the white iPad.

You are wrong in this case.

I am sure my black iPad was equally dirty but the black was hiding it well.

My white iPad 2 never showed anything... of course, I hardly got it dirty. The iPad looked as good on opening day as it did when I sold it.... ;)

White looks classier, imho.
