I have to agree with what the OP has to say. There are a ton of blind people running around this site. Take a look through the forums, and see how much stuff people are putting up with just because its a product with the shiny apple logo on it.

I just read the thread that talks about disabeling location services just so your phone can last all day on a battery. And people are fine with that! They are basically conceeding the fact that the phone doesnt do what it should, and their just fine with defending the ineptness of the device.

Actually, I think it's more of a tradeoff.

Until we all have a Mr. Fusion powering our phones, you can't use it endlessly and not take a battery hit.

What's far more likely, is that people don't mind having longer lasting power for the services they need versus ones they don't.

If I can't check my email or make a call, do I really care if I have location services? Not really, no.

And I certainly didn't buy the phone for location services.

Furthermore, I doubt many people did. Or would.

What they would buy it for is the touchscreen, widescreen ipod, internet device that it is, and it comes in a very aesthetically pleasing package.

I don't curse Dell because I want to use my laptop all day without charging it, I just modify my use of it to do what I need to do.

People make these sort of tradeoffs all the time in myriad ways.

Singling out the iphone and those who choose to use it is a little short sighted and lacks the proper context of what people do in the real world with other products.

That interests me as well. But let me ask you a thing? Are you a apple cert service center owner/worker/specialist? Cause if you are not then there is a a huge chance you don't know half of the issues a iPhone has. Just cause you read macrumors doesn't mean you know all about iPhone

As for the other part... I think I stated clear that my move is not cause iPhone but cause Apple in general. What has a 'smart' thing have to do with simple hardware test?? If he can't check the phone correctly then WTF is he doing there? Should be called a retard instead of a genius.

As for that lemon. Maybe you're happy with a lemonade. I'm sure as hell not especially if I paid for a orange.

lol... looks like I upset you a bit.

Let me clarify, me talking about these Apple genius', what I meant is that there will always be that one retarded genius that doesn't know what they're doing, and its bad luck that you had to deal with that specific genius, or retard, whatever you choose to call them. But don't let that one idiot ruin your experience with Apple.

If you're upset with Apple from the past then I can't help you there. I must not have understood the first time, I thought that you were having problems with your iPhone and chose to go to Microsoft.

Now, I'm not claiming to be no Apple expert, in fact, I'm quite new to Apple, only bought my first Apple computer several months back. All I was saying, is that I didn't know that this was a common problem. I'm not saying you're making it up, but this is the first post where I've heard of internal speakers dying. And I do find it strange that its happened to both of your iPhones.

I'm sorry you took it the wrong way, but I stand by what I said before.

A similar example is you buy a car from Honda. Bring it to your first scheduled maintenance and have a bad experience because the guy there was a jackass. You leave and say to yourself, I'm never buying a Honda again! Maybe trying a new dealership or in your case a new Apple store is the answer.

Now, you want to be the tough guy and say good-bye to Apple forever, then there is no problems there. You're not breaking anybody's heart, and nobody is going to try and beg you to stay with Apple. From my experience people who like to threaten to move to the competiter on public forums are merely looking for attention and the hopes that people will beg them to stay.

You will most likely end up leaving... and I'm sure somewhere in the future you'll be back to Apple, maybe you'll have both Apple and Microsoft in your lives, but you'll definitely come back... be it for an iPod or a new iPhone in the future.

Either way, I have no sympathy for you.

I've been reading these forums for a while now and I agree there are a lot of people that seem blindingly faithful to their products and castigating people who use Windows-based platforms either out of necessity or preference (or the other way around). As a recent purchaser of a MacBook, I can honestly say there are A LOT of things I like about the mac and the OSX platform, however there are software packages that either don't work right or at all under Macs--many of which are standard in the industry that I work in.

So you should keep in mind that regardless of how nice the day-to-day use is, it may not meet the demands of all markets. I use both of my computers for different tasks at which they respectively excel. Besides, if there weren't options, there wouldn't be competition. And without competition, advancement would probably be agonizingly slow and prices high.

In any case, I'd imagine I'd be frustrated if my iPhone got messed up within the first two weeks of use and the people at the Apple Store refused to exchange it on the spot. If I were in your position I'd go back and if they say the same thing, ask to speak to someone higher up.

Hope things get resolved.
