There probably won't be anything in spring.

I think Apple did this on purpose so I could gain more interest in the Galaxy S4.

What is apple not releasing a tablet got to do with gaining interest in a phone?

The month is still young, my friends!

While idk if there's going to be anything happening this month or w/e, I'm really hoping for an iPad mini with a retina display. Sure the current display is fine, but don't we all secretly want that sharper screen? :p

If you read my post...

I said there probably won't be anything from Apple in the spring.

And since I was looking forward to an Apple March event and there isn't, Samsung's event seems interesting.

It's March 4th - don't give up hope yet!

Unless Tim Cook has quad-doubled on secrecy... ;)

There's zero news, rumors, etc. that point to any spring event.

Apple wants to atomic bomb the fall with a slew of iOS and Mac devices.

That leaves spring through summer with basically no releases.

I was hoping Apple would have a spring preview event of OS X 10.9 and iOS 7 and then release the iPhone 5S in June but the new reports make it look unlikely. :(

That's something alot of analysts predicted. That there'll be no releases until Summer and fall, I think partly due to the fact that they updated pretty much their entire product range in summer and fall 2012.

Not really sure

After selling my Nexus 7, I decided to buy a Mini next, but I am absolutely unsure, if I should wait until the end of March. I hope, that the Mini with Ret.Display will arrive, what could be interesting for me.

Apple still has time to send out invites and have a March/April event. An ipad 5 in the spring makes a lot of sense because the Mini killed any coverage for the bigger ipad last fall. It needs its own focus.

The iphone is Apple's baby. It's Apple's most important product. More than any iOS product, it needs its own release window along side any new iOS release. Probably late spring/summer.

That leaves the fall for the Mini/ipod touch along side iOS 7.1 probably.

Releasing all products at relatively the same time last year was probably a mistake. It hurts marketing. It makes it hard to focus. Although I would add the plan probably involved both ipads in the fall but the way the Mini has taken off (and basically buried any ipad 4 news) has probably got them rethinking the bigger ipad.

Apple has to get control of their marketing back. That means not only commercials but the messages it sends through events to the media.

I think people sub-consciously have a tendency to predict devices for dates which would be most convenient for them.

Duh people. How many threads have there been about a March release. How many posts on these threads telling you people there will be NO MARCH IPAD release! Zero. Nadda. Zilch.

Get it. Got it? Good!

Now, can we move onto something more interesting than whining about the lack of a March release?

And if they announced new devices so soon, there would be much wailing and gnashing of teeth because they no longer have the newest igadget.

Exactly, some people have no idea what they are talking about, if apple releases 1 iAnything a year they are sleeping at the wheel but if they release more than 1 they are ripping people off.

Well what can we expect this year?

-Updated Apple TV
-New Mac Pro
-Redesigned Cinema Displays
-iPhone 5S
-Redesigned iPad
-Retina iPad Mini
-Updated iPod Touch
-Updated iPod's
-iWatch?
-Updated Mac lineup (haswell) (no redesign)

Seems at this point all of this is coming WWDC or later.
