I got two cons for the iPhone 6s+. It doesn't have an OLED display and it needs to be thinner/lighter. Since it's a heavier/thicker phone it's more prone to accidents.

Spot on.

It's also terribly easy to drop by accident due to its absurdly big size. It's too slippery as well.

I recommend the iPhone 5s if you wish to minimise your chances of dropping an iPhone, as the 6, 6+, 6s and 6s+ are designed for big screens, not ease of use, as exemplified by widespread reports worldwide.

Apple can certainly make the phone thinner if they decide to go the OLED route. They can also shrink the battery even more since OLED display's need less power.

The problem is that it's already too thin to pick up and hold safely. I use a case which makes it much safer to use.
There are thinner phones with the same or bigger screen size that are either easier to hold or the same. Nexus 6p and Note 5 come to mind as being lighter. Samsung S6 Plus is lighter and thinner. They all feature OLED displays.

Regardless, I'd like an OLED display. They are beautiful and IPS is old news and takes up more power.

Why would you want it thinner? It's already extremely difficult to pick up off a flat surface.
Plus you introduce the likelihood of it bending the thinner you go. I would like it thicker if anything, that way I'd get a larger battery and the phone would be easlier/safer to hold.

The Samsung S6 Edge Plus is thinner and lighter and has no problems with bending. Plus I'm sure Apple knows how to create a better grip.

I'm tired of the quest to make iDevices thinner. Smaller yes, but not thinner. Apple seem content with making things thinner than the last model but matching it for battery life. How about they make the battery life better? Not many people want a thinner iPhone, they're already too thin. Slim the bezels down and make the footprint smaller, but stop aiming for credit card thickness.

Well, with an OLED display they can make the bezels smaller and so naturally they should make the phone thinner. It's not like they are going to dramatically make the phone thinner. We're talking a few mm.

I watched my friend drop his 6 face down on a hardwood floor last night from around 3.5 feet (give or take a few inches). It was odd drop, didn't bounce or tumble at all. Landed flat on the screen and stayed that way. Surprisingly, it came out unscathed. No cracks or scratches that we could see.

If I remember right, what happens in cases like this is that the shock of the impact was distributed evenly across the screen and since it landed flush, the frame didn't flex, so the screen didn't crack either.

In other words, the perfect drop ;)

Well... I have an incessant habbit of throwing my phone in the air and catching it over and over. I drop it from standing hieght once or twice a day. I have a kind of thick rubber case. My 6 Plus is fine. Nothing is broken or bent.

Many years ago I did break the glass on the back of my 4S. That was because I had to take off the case for some reason and I put it on the toilet paper holder in a public bathroom. It was at a slight angle, which usually wouldn't be a problem with the case on, but since there was no case it slid right off. It landed on the back a smashed the glass. I replaced it for $80.

After maybe hundreds of drops over the years I've never experienced the internals of an iPhone getting messed up. I definitely wouldn't sweat a drop from a couch as long as there was no exterior damage.

Mate, I am using my iPhone 6 for a whole year now, and I dropped it like 100 times. Guess what, it's still working, with just one scratch :)
My Experience: Apple made a solid built phone :)

I don't want this thing to be any thinner. Any thinner, and it would really start feeling fragile.

I knock mine in the floor from either the bed or night stand about once a month. Its falling on carpet so not a problem. Are you on tile or something? If so, you may want to put a throw rug next to your bed. We have cats and they knock stuff in the floor all the time. The charging cables look like toys to them.

Don't punch yourself in the eye, poke it.

Oh, wow. I'm actually on hardwood floors.

I won't be knocking it off my nightstand table anymore, because I've moved the phone to near-ground level.

As for knocking the phone off the chair, I'll just attribute that to moving too quickly while still in a drowsy state.

Seems pretty easy to correct that. A rug is a really good idea though.

Jeez. What kind of case do you have? It's hard to imagine, but I can kind of believe it.

I have had my 6+ for almost a year now using just the Apple leather case. I haven't dropped it even once. Am I doing something wrong?
